• Ethical guidelines for students in laboratory classes using animals or animal tissues
• 8th edition of the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes 
  Following extensive public consultation and review by a national working party made up of industry, government and animal welfare representatives, in 2013 the NHMRC released the 8th edition of the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes (The Code).
• Best Practice Methodology in the use of animals for scientific purposes (2017)
  This guidance:outlines best practice for the conduct of high quality animal-based studies highlights common flaws in methodologies used in animal-based studies and issues that affect their reproducibility provides practical strategies for implementation of best practice methodology during the planning, conduct and reporting of animal-based studies.
• NHMRC Wellbeing Guidelines
  Guidelines to promote the well-being of animals used for scientific purposes: the assessment and alleviation of pain and distress in research animals
• Code of Practice for the Housing and Care of Laboratory Mice, Rats, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits (Victoria)
  This code is made under The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 and applies to all institutions breeding and using such animals for research, testing and teaching, to establish minimum standards and promote recommendations for the housing and care of these species.
• The Australian Animal Research Review Panel Polices and Guidelines
  Various policies and guidelines developed by the Animal Research Review Panel (ARRP) and the Animal Welfare Unit are available on this website.
• RSPCA Policies on Euthanasia
  Various policies on Euthanasia guidelines as  developed by the RSPCA. Updated 2019.

In line with ANZCCART’s long-standing policy of promoting the highest professional standards when it comes to research that involves the use of animals, at the 2017 December Meeting the ANZCCART Board formally endorsed both the ARRIVE and the PREPARE Guidelines.

• Animal Welfare Regulations
  As a result of changes to the Animal Welfare Act in May 2015, new regulations were released in July 2016 and more will be released as they are developed.
• Codes of Welfare
  Codes of welfare also have recommended best practices and these recommendations set out standards of care and conduct, over and above the minimum required to meet the obligations in the Act.  They are included to encourage higher standards of animal welfare.
• A Culture of Care
  A NAEAC guide for people working with animals in research, testing and teaching
• Codes of Recommendations and Minimum Standards, NAWAC
  Resource for teachers. The National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) of the Ministry for Primary Indus tries has produced numerous codes outlining the minimum standards which are currently acceptable to the informed New Zealand public and make recommendations to ensure good animal welfare.
