Following extensive public consultation and review by a national working party made up of industry, government and animal welfare representatives, in 2013 the NHMRC released the 8th edition of the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes (The Code). - Best Practice Methodology in the use of animals for scientific purposes (2017)

As a result of changes to the Animal Welfare Act in May 2015, new regulations were released in July 2016 and more will be released as they are developed. - Codes of Welfare
